Rebeca Mckin: I think the only way to do that is for them to sign the title completely over to you and then you will have to go to your local DMV and show them that and current insurance maybe and that is when you can have the registration changed over... That is something you just can't change on the computer I think.

Parking tickets, speed camera fines etc. To avoid paying them your self you have to identify the driver at the time of offence. It is an offence not to supply the driver details. Write to the dvla immediately ~ sending it by Registered post ~ keep a copy of your letter. Also email dvla and pull the email record from your sent box and move it to saved. Tell them exactly what happened and ask for your name to be removed from the keeper record as of date and time car was sold. I know it is easy to be wise after the event but as soon as the buyer refused to give you his name! and address you should have immediately cancelled the sale and given him his money back....Show more
