Are Audi's high maintenance cars?

Efren Clankscales: Audis are low maintenance cars like all mildly priced european automobiles. But! when something does go wrong, they are quite expensive to fix. Cheers

Lashawnda Anteby: what you do in this case is you call and get a price from a garage and then call a different garage and see if they will beat it. continue this until they don't lower the price no more or your happy with the price you got

Antone Youla: i think they are smooth, stylish, and efficient and i want one

Sonya Volcko: Ive owned Audis for 12 years. And I have never took my cars to the dealer. Of course that would be expensive and very un intelligent. Take it to your own repair man. Most repairs are the same as a Honda, or other. I drove my Audi 90 for 189,000 miles and only had trouble with tie rods at the end. I own a 2001 S4 now and after 4 years I had to change the same thing. Im good for another 100,000 miles. Audis are not high maintenance cars. Thats why they are expensi! ve. Sure if you drive like a maniac then youll have problems but you would with any other car too. Generally, German cars last far longer than any other cars. That is a proven fact by all magazines and reports....Show more

Ellis Cellar: Yes definitely, once out of warranty.

Melvin Nakama: Audi Maintenance Cost

Hilton Paiva: depends on the used of the car

Rosann Mccomb: I had 1998 Audi A4 2.8 and I loved it!!! Their parts are little high and labor at dealer is around $90 per hour. I used go to dealer for all that service including the oil change because every 3000 miles you will see the Engine Check sign. It's very annoying. Dealer turns that sign off with the service but you will see that sign again after 3000 miles. Oil Change cost me around $120. I don't know if they still program all those in these days. Long as you don't care about the sign and you don't go to dealer it's okay....Show more

Darren Heling: For the best answers, sear! ch on this site https://shorturl.im/axaksI had one, I'll never! buy another, German engineering :( It's funny you should mention Audi, there's one up the street from us with no engine in it :(

Dexter Dingus: Yes, according to Consumer Reports magazine, who surveys thousands of owners each year. I owned one a few years ago and every thing electrical failed on it at one time or another. They are great looking cars and are fun to drive, but unless you have the time and patience to spend a lot of time in the shop, stay away from Audi.

Gilberto Cratin: they're most definitely not the best, nor are they the worst. In my opinion, the money you spend on a crappy Audi could be better spent on something cool and or classic.

Caleb Chapman: Audi's can be exspensive on parts but no more so than any other quality car. I have a 1996 A4 TDi which is brilliant, I have done over 18000 miles in less than 2 years, touring around the country and it has never let me down. As with any car check it out thouroughly before you buy, especially ! things like the turbo, four wheel drive system etc. If yo are not sure its well worth paying for a report from the AA, RAC or similar. Could save you a fortune in the long run.

Nona Lentini:

Octavio Roylance: I own a 2000 Audi A4 1.8T. I just came home from a timing belt change and it cost me $850 (my original dealer wanted something approx $900). Ask a Honda dealer what they would charge for a timing belt change (without water pump). With the water pump they wanted another $350.At the dealer they told me I have to replace my tie-rods (broken rubber boots) and that's going to cost me $650. Both are way overpriced ($125 per hour). And yes they are HIGH maintenance. I would like to take it to another mechanic but Audi's are very specific. I asked a non-Audi mechanic what it cost to replace "secondary air injector", and the non-Audi mechanic said "what's that?"People from time to time (almost few times a day) ask this question and the answers are almost alw! ays YES.====They rent me a Chrysler 300 (1200 miles) and it fell way lo! w compared to my Audi. Even so I would not buy an Audi (or any other German car) again. I just can't maintain it. Period....Show more

Inge Mclaurine: I have a 2000 A6 twin turbo , as long as you follow the maintainence schedule the car shoul run for over 200,000without any major parts going .I run Mobil 1 full synthetic oilin my Auto and change this and a high qquality filter every 3500 miles ,that added few dollars for synthetics extend the life ware allmost 60% over standard oils, also when changing your drive belts ,the timing chair and water pump -thermostat are in the same general area ,due them all together at 5000under the recommended change interval ,and you will save mmuch on the added expense in labor having to possibly go back o address these parts ,they are in the same general area. Audis are more expensive than a typicle American car but also far more technologically advanced ,and the parts quality is far metter specked and more money ,any premium car ! Lexas , Lincoln, Bmw ,will be 20-30 % more to maintainin parts pricing , this is why for a major part repair or belt kit I go online ,if you look up Audi timing belt kits you will fing a package from a german name company that selld the pulleys and dampers ,which I did for around $600, the dealers wants $1300, find a good Audi mechanic that will allow U to get the parts, these are all original equipment , Good luck...Show more

Shamika Schools: will you settle for a fiat punto?

Gabriel Realmuto: This Site Might Help You.RE:Are Audi's high maintenance cars?

Malissa Porth: Any car is high maintenance when you don't keep up with the required maintenance. Hence, having an owner and maintenance manual provided. Previously, Audi was not a car that you would frequently see but today the're a dime a dozen, so finding an ASE Audi mechanic is everywhere. I love my Audi A8 this is my second, unfortunately I totalled my first one. I have owned a BMW and Benz tho! ugh they are up there with the Audi I still perfer my A8.

Shelley! Stevens: I've only known a few people who've owned Audis but, based on what I've been told, there seems to be 2 things that run pretty consistently among those owners:1. The loved the performance, styling, and comfort of the cars.2. They've all encountered expense and frustration with maintenance problems.Even if they are reliable cars, there are relatively few of them on the roads in the US. That means that, if you do have to repair one, it will likely cost quite a bit since it will be harder to locate a shop with mechanics experienced in working on Audis....Show more

Oswaldo Rayburn: They are very expensive and high maintenance! If you fall in love with one either marry an ASE technician, get a 3 year lease on a new model or buy a CPO with long warranty. It would also help to visit a dealer's service center and take a good, long, hard look at those $95/hour shop rates before you make a commitment, especially on a used one.
