Manual Burtis: ABSOLUTELY! I am a PA resident, a smoker, and a universal healthcare advocate. I would love for the price of cigarettes to go up in order to make healthcare more affordable. Maybe then in 20 years I won't be wasting my money on cigarettes OR chemotherapy.
Lauri Ohl: The problem is that the money raised by increasing the cigarette tax most likely won't be used for anti-smoking programs or health care. It will go into a "general" fund and will be used for whatever the politicans want. just look at this article about what happened to the billions the states got from the big tobacco company settlements.
Ivan Velazquez: The best thing you could do for your health is to stop smoking.All these programs are being put in place to tax smoking and eventually almost nobody will smoke because it's too expensive and then who will fund the programs?
Stevie Goldey: the did that is Calif, rob reiner, that big lib. movie star, had the state, enforce a tax o! n tobacco product's for the health of children!!!!!! their is still a huge problem, with children being under health care, they have healthy children, and they should also have healthy adults, some can hardly make the grade, and no one every hears where the money goes?????? look into it, most fed or state health plan's can be very limited!!!!! they put this to vote year's ago and it passed, but I know people who have no ins. for their kid's because healthy children program, doesn't cover everyone, so where is the billion's of dollar's the state collects anyway??????????...Show more
